How-to: Introducing The Wall

Last Global Entrepreneurship Week we unveiled a massive surprise by launching The Wall! This is a revamped, bigger, better - and let’s admit, a much more user friendly - online community that’s been designed to make it easier for enterprising students, graduates and educators to connect!

Introducing The Wall is a complete guide on how to use our brand new platform - screenshots and all!

The very first step to getting started is signing up on The Wall’s website. Once you’ve created an account you’re in and ready to start making your profile. Fill in your name, age, university/college and the rest of the required fields. Once you’re done, upload a photo of yourself and your profile should look nice and complete.

Now you’re probably interested in getting involved in some discussions. Take part in a group chat by creating one or joining one.

Groups will look like this:

You can join a join a group by simply clicking on the white ‘Join Group’ button at the top of the group. You can easily leave the group anytime by clicking on the white ‘Leave Group’ button. Each group is filled with a forum, announcements, and documents - which can be refined by attachments and tags. Groups can be used as an online space for your society to meet, discuss and share ideas.

*Extra Tip: You can personalise email subscription options in each group to manage the way that you receive news about group activity.

Why not voice some opinions, ask for some help or get some advice in our ‘Have Your Say’ forum? This can be found under ‘Connect’ on the top left hand side of your screen:

Under ‘Learn’ you can review the latest news, resources, interviews, inspirational posts and societies can share resources.

We’ve got some really awesome tailor made resources and templates to help you to set up, run and develop your enterprise society.

Make the most of the ‘Events Calendar’ to find out what’s going on in the enterprise sphere. You can also use our ‘Society Map’ to find out about the number of enterprise societies near you. You could be a enterprise member looking to connect with other enterprise societies or simply a student interested in joining a society.

Our Events Calendar can be viewed as a list or a month. If you’re looking for events at a particular date you just type it in on the top left hand side in the ‘date’ bar - searches can be made in that way too. It’s that simple!

Lastly, if you’re a part of an enterprise society and have a business idea our Ignition Fund could be just for you! We’re giving away £5k to help ignite your impressive projects and business within enterprise societies. All you have to do is meet the terms and apply via The Wall.

Powering the Enterprising Generation

Our mission is to support the development of education and student engagement throughout college and universities by championing student enterprise societies and peer-to-peer learning. NACUE started from an extraordinary movement in student entrepreneurship, providing young individuals with a platform to be experimental, creative and inspiring in their approach to enterprise and entrepreneurship, encouraging a bottom-up approach to inspiring the next generation.

Today, we see over 200 enterprise societies, powered by peer-to-peer groups, who are championing the success of young people throughout their interactive programmes by forging collaborative relationships with their institutions to provide greater experience and development opportunities for their peers. Establishing regional links with locals SME’s who are keen to open their doors to emerging talented, proactive and enthusiastic graduates perpetuates this.

Our work is dedicated to supporting the development and encouragement of entrepreneurship amongst young individuals and forms the sole purpose of NACUE. To learn more about NACUE and the services we produce, click here.

As a not-for-profit, we raise charitable donations that allow us to widen the opportunities available to young people in relation to enterprise and entrepreneurship, strengthening student engagement, the quality of education and connecting and representing student enterprise societies and student entrepreneurs worldwide.

NACUE is a charitable organisation that supports 32,000 students and young people every year. As funding becomes harder to obtain, we rely on the generous support of donors to ensure our programs can continue to change the lives and aspirations of the younger generation.

Entrepreneurs are at the very core of NACUE, everything we do is to better the startup and self employment ecosystem. We believe that entrepreneurs will shape the future, and we bolster this through our events, our network and our advocacy.

Our events

Our events offer the young people we work with the opportunity to connect with our wider network, the experts and seasoned entrepreneurs in our community and the chance to be inspired to take the leap of faith into entrepreneurship. These events are attended by students and graduates from universities and colleges up and down the UK, as well as students from across Europe. Student Societies take centre stage at our events, alongside innovators, game changers and trail blazers of the UK startup ecosystem.
