Our Mission

The purpose of our work in Further Education is to create cross-curriculum entrepreneurial communities for any college student to be part of, acting as a hub for entrepreneurial opportunities, and fostering an entrepreneurial mind-set amongst learners.

We work with all our partner colleges to engage more students in entrepreneurship through establishing vibrant student societies and groups, with the skills and ambition to leave college as creative, innovative and work-ready young adults.

Our Network

By joining NACUE, Colleges are able to be part of a community of enterprising students, staff, tutors, and senior managers. We facilitate knowledge transfer, share best practices, and deliver collaborative projects between both FE Colleges and Universities. [divider id='fework' title='NACUE in Further Education']

NACUE in Further Education

NACUE has supported student-led enterprise in Higher Education since 2008, with ‘Enterprise Societies’ model widely regarded, and adopted, as a best-practice method for encouraging the development of both an enterprise culture and entrepreneurial young people at universities across the UK.

Since then, with support and guidance from the Association of Colleges (AoC) and the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) piloted an adapted version of its ‘Enterprise Society’ model in 10 Further Education institutions.

NACUE has successfully supported the creation of enterprise societies over 100 colleges as well as the physical enterprise societies, now operating or being established, NACUE has created an online enterprise platform vHub, to provide access to NACUE to those Colleges who we are not working with.

In 2014, encouraging enterprise and entrepreneurship remain essential features of supporting economic recovery and growth. Further Education Colleges are increasingly taking up the challenge of enterprise and regarding this as a critical part to preparing learners for an increasingly entrepreneurial economy.

We are now excited to welcome the 2014/15 cohort of colleges to be part of the growing NACUE network to empower and develop the entrepreneurial capacity of students, improve their employability skills and assist in launching business ventures. [divider id='apply' title='Apply for 2014/15']
