Last Wednesday ten passionate and enthusiastic young people were selected to attend our Student Advisory Board (SAB) at NACUE HQ. We welcomed the opportunity to hear views from NACUE alumni, college and university students from across our network.

Our Student Advisory Board plays an incredibly important role in NACUE, not only does it shape our vision for future projects but it also ensures students remain at centre of what we do.

Our first SAB of 2014 kicked off with discussions on some of the most pressuring issues within enterprise societies. The board discussed the best ways in which NACUE can continue to provide support to societies, whilst also giving them the opportunities to learn-by-doing.

Johnny Luk, our CEO, gave a speech on the importance of our Student Advisory Board, before being followed up by Holly Knower, our Head of Community who introduced topics of discussion. There were a wide-range of topics from online communities, to student  manifestos and successful societies.

It was also our first opportunity to gain some verbal feedback on The Wall, our relaunched online community. Board members were able to express their expectations for the platform as well present ideas on what they’d like to see.

We look forward to discussing the impact of the board’s feedback in our next meeting. The next meeting will be held next year on early March 2015.
