Startup Career Launchpad (SCLP) was one of our biggest events of 2014. We connected some of the most exciting companies in the startup world with the nation’s most ambitious and enterprising youth. 84% of our survey respondents stated that their knowledge of what it’s like to work in a startup was high/very high since attending SCLP.

Kris Hallenga’s inspirational story about how she founded her breast cancer awareness charity Coppafeel! started off the day. It was talks and discussions from speakers like Jennifer Arcuri (Innotech Summit), Danny King (Accredible), Dominic Davies (Backyard Cinemas) and Adiba Osmani (Tech City UK) which helped increase our attendees awareness of startups. 63% of our survey respondents stated that their knowledge of how to get noticed by startups was high/very high since attending SCLP. And 71% of survey respondents also found that their commercial awareness was high/very high since attending SCLP.

Attendees were presented with plenty of opportunities to network and gain advice on how to start their startup careers with CV clinics from Give A Grad A Go and Personal PR workshops from Astrea PR and Exceeding your Potential. It is with this that attendees were able to gain an understanding of how to take their first steps towards reaching their career goals. 74% of survey respondents stated that their knowledge of where and how to find opportunities with startups was high/very high since attending SCLP.

We are now proud recipients of Global Entrepreneurship Week’s High Impact Host 2014 Award for our efforts and contribution during the national week for celebrating entrepreneurship in the UK.  Not only did we host our SCLP but we also hosted our Varsity Pitch competition. The Wall, our online community was relaunched with our Ignition Fund - providing funding to enterprise societies.
